Support the TUSC banner appeal this week

TUSC national chairperson Dave Nellist writes:

Dear comrades,

I am writing to ask for your help.

Over the next six weeks or so, every council in the country will be holding a special budget meeting at which hundreds of millions of pounds more will be cut from essential local services. Tories and Liberal Democrats will cut with enthusiasm, Labour will claim it is doing so with a heavy heart (but won’t promise to restore jobs and services if it wins in 2015). Those whose jobs or services go will be hard pushed to see the difference.

No major party stands 100% against this overlapping austerity agenda from the establishment parties. But this May, TUSC is committed to fielding the largest left electoral challenge ever seen at local elections in this country – over 600 candidates in practically every town and city. Each one standing in defence of jobs and services, and against wage cuts or service charge increases. But one of our problems is visibility.

So as a small step to challenging that, I’d like to order ten banners with the slogan “No to Austerity’ and the ‘TUSC against cuts’ electoral logo (see picture below) so that outside each of those council meetings in February, where protests are held, TUSC can be seen.

To do that I need 100 people to donate £10 (though if you do know of somewhere or someone who could donate more, there’s stickers, leaflets, posters and a load of other material needed as well).

The big parties have millions in resources, but in the final analysis carrying out policies that best benefit the millionaires. TUSC has very little in resources, but is trying to build a serious national election alternative firmly rooted in the organisations and communities of working class people.

Could you help? If so, please take two minutes to donate today at: https://www.tusc.org.uk/donate.php

Many thanks for reading this.

Regards,

Dave
